Love falafel, but don’t like to deep fry it? Try our Air Fryer recipe for oil-free vegan falafels.

They are crisp, tender & delicious, perfect with hummus and vegetable salad.

 

This falafel is high in fibre, loaded with protein, low in calories, rich in healthy fats and super easy to make. Most importantly, it’s made without oil.

INGREDIENTS

1 Can of Chickpeas
1 Can of Peas
1 Onion, diced
1 Clove of Garlic, minced
3/4 Cup Parsley Leaves
1/4 Cup Cilantro Leaves
1 Tbsp Chickpea Flour or Plain Flour
2 Tsp Cumin Powder
2 Tsp Ground Coriander
1 Tsp Ground Black Pepper
1/2 Tsp Chilli Flakes
1 1/2 Tsp Sea Salt

 

METHOD

1, Place all the ingredients into a food processor. Blend until well combined.
2, Using your hands, shape the falafel mixture into small balls.
3, Arrange falafel balls in the air fryer basket and air-fry for about 12 minutes at 190°C.
4, After 12 mins, pull out the basket and give it a little shake and air-fry for additional 3 mins.
5, Repeat this process until you use up all the dough. The falafel is done when it's golden brown and crisp.
6, Serve with hummus.
